Tether (USDT) is the largest stablecoin by market capitalization and one of the most traded digital assets. Each USDT is designed to hold a value of one US dollar: Tether issues new tokens when customers deposit dollars and redeems them when tokens are returned, so the supply follows demand. Most of the USDT supply is held on Tron and Ethereum, where it has the deepest liquidity and the widest support among exchanges and wallets. Like other centrally issued stablecoins, USDT can be frozen by the issuer at specific addresses, for example at the request of law enforcement.
